Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How long will it take you to arrive?
If the workload permits and, for example, I can set off immediately, it is simply a matter of traffic. Customers can use a code received by SMS or email to follow live when I will arrive at the specified address.
Will you definitely come?
If we have agreed it by telephone, then yes, definitely. Deceiving my customers is out of the question. We treat one another and our partners fairly. If circumstances differ from what was agreed and an unexpected life event prevents me from travelling to the agreed address (illness, accident), I notify the customer by telephone immediately, as far as circumstances permit.
If I pay more, can you come today?
No. If jobs have already been firmly scheduled, they take priority. I do not cancel any customer because somebody else has offered more. The customer who has one socket replaced is just as important to me as the customer having an entire electrical installation replaced.
Is it cheaper if I do not ask for an invoice?
No, it is not cheaper, because whether you ask for one or not, you will receive an invoice. My business is exempt from VAT, so you do not have to pay it. I also advise every customer to request an invoice from everyone, because in the event of faulty workmanship, for example, it enables you to enforce a warranty claim.
How long does an electrical safety inspection take?
This depends on the size of the property (m2), the number of electrical accessories and built-in household appliances, and the condition of the electrical installation. In general, an inspection can take anywhere from two to as long as eight hours.
Everything has worked until now, so why was it rated non-compliant?
The fact that a property has electricity and the television works unfortunately does not always mean that the electrical installation satisfies every requirement for compliance. It must meet a great many standards to receive a compliant rating. The electrical installation of a property may only be rated compliant if it fulfils every safety requirement in full and complies in every respect with the rules and standards that were in force when it was installed.
Can I receive a “Compliant” report if I pay more?
No. That possibility is completely out of the question!
I only need the report by email; a “non-compliant” one is fine too!
No. That possibility is completely out of the question!
What types of cameras do you install?
Any camera that serves the customer’s interests, taking the applicable legislation into account. I install IP-based cameras exclusively, because stable access, proper video recording and uninterrupted operation can be guaranteed with these cameras.
I want to buy the cameras myself. Is that possible?
Of course! However, even at the customer’s express request, I do not install bottom-tier cameras of unknown origin from nameless manufacturers. Their data-protection compliance is questionable at best, and their operation is unstable.
You will not watch our cameras online, will you?
No. After the cameras have been installed, the customer receives appropriate information about how the system works and how passwords can be changed. I would not do so for ethical or legal reasons either, because my work is subject to police authorisation and I would immediately lose all my authorisations in the event of misuse.
I have already installed it, but it does not work. Will you fix it?
No, because no warranty can be given for work carried out by a layperson. The invoice would state security-system installation, and in light of this my business would be responsible for any technical fault occurring later. The same applies to electrical work.
